The Aquatred may be the most perfect type of body conditioning and rehabilitation for the equine athlete. This underwater treadmill provides low-impact, full body excercise, with natural resistance and lighter concussion on legs and joints. It enhances and maintains conditioning in a full-body excercise, giving the horse perfect balance.
The 40-60% buoyancy gives the horse an easier range of motion. This is key to giving range of motion back to an injured athlete, as well as increasing length of stride of an older athlete, bringing it back to its origional state. The mild impact of the underwater treadmill stimulates additional bone and cartilage growth. The lack of concussion and controlled movement make it an excellent intermidiate step before proceeding to full weight-baring excercise.
The resistance of the water and the lack of concussion enables the horses to work themselves fully and with no pain, using the same muscle groups as on land. The Aquatred is able to provide cardiovascular workouts, due to variable speed and reverse speed ranges, adjustable for any performance related athlete and injury.
